The Australian Voices

Join The Australian Voices for The Question of Love.

This concert promises to be a moving tribute to love, diversity, and inclusion, showcasing songs that highlight the beauty and strength of the LGBTQ+ community.

The evening will feature excerpts from Watershed, an oratorio by Brisbane-based composer Joseph Twist and produced by Opera Australia. The oratorio tells the story of the drowning of Dr George Ian Ogilvie Duncan, whose death led South Australia to decriminalise homosexuality ahead of the rest of the country.

Another highlight of the concert will be a piece dedicated to Alan Turing, honouring the legacy of the brilliant mathematician and code-breaker whose contributions changed the world.

Come and experience the magic of choral harmony as we honour the spirit of equality and pride.

“This was an evening that really showcased several remarkable things. First of all, there’s absolutely no doubt that The Australian Voices’ skills are peerless – their performances are, quite honestly, without fault. Secondly, this concert demonstrates that you can absolutely put on a concert of new music and actually (a) attract a sizeable audience and (b) have fun doing it. I’d absolutely love to see more groups (chamber and orchestral) perform with the same sort of enthusiasm for new music that The Australian Voices have.”

Paul Ballam-Cross, Limelight Magazine

“The singing is immaculate and the group moves together seamlessly.”
