The Melt Development Program is now open! The Program will provide artist support for the inaugural event this Oct-Nov.
Supported by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland, the Melt Development Program is for artists from across the state to develop and deliver projects and events as part of the 2024 Melt Festival of Queer Arts and Culture, from 23 October to 10 November 2024.
The Melt Development Program is divided into two strands:
- Melt Development Program (South-East Queensland) – $60,000+gst (maximum amount is $5,000 per application)
- Melt Development Program (Regional Queensland) – $70,000+gst

Successful applicants
- Will be required to enter into an MOU with Melt’s Producer Brisbane Powerhouse and to complete and pay for registration of at least one event as part of the Melt program before money is transferred to the applicant, and;
- Will be expected to provide a one-page acquittal detailing what the applicant spent their development money on, personal learnings, outcomes gained and related still images of the project by no later than four weeks after their event concludes.
Application Deadlines: There is no specified application deadline for the Melt Development Programs. The Program’s resources will continue to be allocated until fully utilised.
