Mikarla Teague
Acclaimed queer artist and poet Mikarla Teague returns to Melt Festival with Lessons in Falling – an immersive exhibition and book launch exploring queer love, longing, identity and the lifelong act of becoming.
The exhibition invites audiences to move through a collection of visual artworks, spoken word poetry installations and the official launch of Teague’s debut poetry collection. Alongside Teague’s works, the exhibition proudly features selected works by emerging queer artist Daniel Patrick.
Audiences are invited to experience the exhibition throughout the festival period, with artworks available to view before and after scheduled performances and events at the theatre – creating opportunities to return, reflect and engage with the works across multiple moments.
The exhibition officially opens with a launch evening on Thursday 22 October as part of Melt Festival celebrations at PIP Theatre, featuring exhibition previews, community connection and a first opportunity to experience Lessons in Falling in full.
