Melt has officially launched the return of the Melt Development Program, proudly supported by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland. The program is designed to assist artists and producers from across the state to develop and deliver projects and events as part of Melt Festival of Queer Arts and Culture, taking place from 22 October to 9 November 2025.
The Melt Development Program offers a unique opportunity for Queensland artists to present work within a high-profile, nationally recognised festival context.
Applications for the Melt Development Program are now open and will close on 14 July 2025 with outcomes to be announced shortly after.
The Melt Development Program is open to Queensland applicants. Artists and producers from regional Queensland including the Torres Strait Islands are encouraged to apply.
SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS
- will be required to enter into an MOU with Melt’s producer Brisbane Powerhouse and to complete and pay for registration of at least one event as part of the Melt program before money is transferred to the applicant, and;
- will be expected to provide a one-page acquittal detailing what the applicant spent their development money on, personal learnings, outcomes gained and related still images of the project by no later than four weeks after their event concludes.
Funding support ranges from $2,000 to $10,000, depending on the scale and scope of the project. Regional applicants may request up to $15,000 (in total) to support travel expenses.
