PIP Theatre

PIP Theatre is proud to be a part of MELT Open 2024. Located in the heart of Milton, PIP Theatre is accessible by train, bus and ferry, has on-street and off-street parking, and plenty of restaurant options to entice audiences from all over Brisbane and beyond.

PIP Theatre is a not-for-profit registered charity harnessing the power of performing arts to effect social change. As a professional production company and performing arts venue, we serve as a dynamic platform for theatre producers and creatives to enrich Brisbane’s vibrant performing arts scene. To us, “Purpose In Performance” means making an impact by telling meaningful stories, fostering creativity by providing local artists with paid performance opportunities, and broadening horizons by presenting diverse stories.

THEATRE
PIP Theatre is an intimate 130pax theatre. Our traditional staging is a 6m x 4m raised stage complete with classic red stage curtains and side wings. Flexible staging options allow for customisable layouts, including additional depth, catwalk/traverse configurations, or various stage levels – subject to festival requirements. The venue is an innovative dome structure featuring exceptional natural acoustics enveloping the entire theatre, and audiences love being close to the action either in tiered seating or cabaret style with tables layout. There is an elevated bio box equipped with a state-of-the-art audio system, full stage lighting and projector.

REHEARSAL ROOM
The 9.6m x 6.8m Rehearsal Room offers a dynamic space for art exhibitions, workshops, play readings and performances for smaller audiences up to 50pax.

TERRACE BAR
Our licensed bar, fully operated and managed by PIP, offers a range of beers, wines, premixed drinks, and ciders.

THEATRE ACCESSIBILITY
PIP theatre is fully accessible via the foyer lift. We have dedicated wheelchair spaces in our front row and are equipped with accessible amenities.
For bump-in and out, loading bays are directly in front of the theatre.
